American Eagle Gold Coins are minted by the United States Mint. In 1985, the U.S. Congress enacted the Gold Coin Act of 1985, which stipulated that the U.S. mints gold coins (Eagle Gold Coins) with a free-themed design on the front and an "Eagle" theme on the back, with the name of the United States and the slogans "Liberty", "United States, One", and "In God We Trust". The Eagle Gold Coin was first issued in 1986, with the Statue of Liberty on the front., while the reverse depicts a family of bald eagles, updated in 2021 to a new eagle design.
